Initial greenhouse gas reporting under Canada’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Automakers

Under the terms of a voluntary agreement signed in 2005, automakers were expected to report their initial progress in reducing GHG emissions by May 2008.

Media reports indicate that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will host an all-day high-level climate summit for Heads of State and Government.

G-20 Leaders’ Summit, Pittsburgh, USA

At the closing of the G8 Leaders' Summit, President Obama indicated that Finance Ministers will be expected to report to this meeting on climate financing, a key element in the Copenhagen negotiations.
